Yuvajana Sakhyam

The Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam was organized with a view that all the young people in the Church should accept Jesus Christ as their savior and Lord, and bear witness to His saving power. It was organized in 1933 by a resolution of the Sabha Prathinidhi Mandalam.
Branches of the Yuvajana Sakhyam were set up in parishes with the fourfold objective of Worship, Study, Witness and Service. Yuvajana Sakhyam was set up at San Francisco in 2004. The Yuvajana Sakhyam is now an active organization of the church with 35 youths as its members.

The Yuvajana Sakhyam members meets every month as part of cottage prayer meeting where all our members come together to praise the Lord, discuss and study the spiritual scriptures under the leadership of our Achen. Some of the major activities taken up by Yuvajana Sakhyam are Bone Marrow Registration Drive, Publishing a Song Book for the church, Seminars. Yuvajana Sakhyam hopes to raise some money by publishing the song book which will be donated to GiriDeepthi, A tribal hostel in Ernakulam run by Mar Thoma Church. The Yuvajana Sakhyam also gets involved in charity activities including Soup kitchen in USA, Help poor families in India by donating money to build home and sponsor higher education of poor students. The members also help the church by participating in various church activities.

Members of The Mar Thoma Church who are aged 12 and up to 45 can be members of The Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam.
