Prayer: Lord God, be the teacher for our children. To be taught by you is to become intimate with you, disciplined, and wise. Lord let them be accustomed to your voice and willing to obey you. No matter how much Godly teaching and training we give our children, they have to know God for themselves. Lord help them to develop the habit of spending regular time with you and thus be your students and pave the way for a bright future. Let them know the one who created them is faithful.  Let your anointing be there to strengthen them to do right over wrong no matter what the circumstances. Help them to confess the word of God. Help them to see their future and possibilities by leaning on the Lord.  To him be glory forever and ever. Amen

Teach them to apply Your promises and to defeat all the lies of the enemy as Your truth is revealed in Your word. Amen

Let them acknowledge You in all their ways.  Help them walk by faith, not by sight.  Let them be like trees planted by the water that sends out its root by the stream bearing fruit.  Keep them in perfect peace because they trust in you, the Rock eternal.  Let them live in the assurance that Your unfailing love surrounds those who trust in the Lord. Give us the wisdom and strength daily to train Your children in the way they should go.  May your name be glorified. We pray these in your precious name. Amen.

Week#8 – Let The Children Grow In The Grace And Knowledge Of Jesus And Thus Grow Into The Maturity In The Lord

  • Luke 2:52. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with  God and man.
  • 1 Samuel 2:26 Even in the midst of the spiritual darkness of the nation, “the boy Samuel continued to grow in stature and in favor with the Lord and with people.”

  • Hebrews 5:13,6:1 Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.  Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity.
  • 1Corinthians 3:11-12. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now, we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
  • Ephesians 4:13-15.  It was He who gave some to be apostles, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to prepare God’s people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.   Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth, blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.  Instead, Speaking the truth in love we will in all things, grow up into Him, who is the head that is Christ.
  • 2Peter 1:2 “Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord”
  • 2 Peter 1:5-8  To escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;  and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love (God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit).  For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
  • Colossians 2:6-7. As you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him strengthened in the faith, as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we pray that our children will be built solidly on the foundation of Jesus and grow in your grace with a conscious sense of your presence conforming them to be like you. That they will continue to be built up with your wisdom, favor, truth, love, faith, goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, mutual affection, and thankfulness. Even in the midst of spiritual darkness, the boy Samuel could continue to grow in stature and in favor with the Lord and men.  Noah lived in a corrupted world, but he was able to live a righteous and blameless life and he walked with God. Thus Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Just like Noah and Samuel, our children are also living in a corrupted world, help them to be different from this world and help them continue to grow in Your grace and lead a holy, righteous, and blameless life. Let them not be carried away by the evil forces of this world, but grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord. Help them to be disciplined so that they can find a personal quiet time every day with You and help them use every opportunity that they get to hear the word of God so that they can grow in the knowledge of the son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then they will not be blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Grace and peace may be theirs in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. To You be all glory and honor forever and ever.  Amen
